Welcome to Esteem Counseling! My name is Lindsay and I have been in the mental health field providing counseling services since 2012. I graduated from Eastern Washington University with a Master of Science degree in Applied Developmental Psychology with a Mental Health Counseling Emphasis. I have experience working in outpatient settings, telehealth services, and residential care. I have particular expertise working with Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, Schizophrenia, ADHD, PTSD, and working with Autism Spectrum Disorders. I have also provided counseling services to First Responders and Military families.
I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I offer individual and family counseling. I am also an approved supervisor through the State of Idaho.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my partner and family, hiking, skiing, picking huckleberries, travelling, reading, and spending time in the sunshine.

Melody Cauley is a Licensed Professional Counselor with masters degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Developmental Psychology. She brings a warm, grounded, and highly
collaborative approach to therapy, shaped by years of experience supporting children, families, and individuals across clinical, educational, and community-based settings.
Melody has extensive experience working with children ages 3 and up, with a particular passion for helping children feel safe, understood, and successful both at home and in school. She has extensive experience supporting clients impacted by trauma, including abuse, neglect, emotional dysregulation, and high-risk behaviors. Melody places strong emphasis on partnering with parents and caregivers, believing that meaningful change happens when the whole family system is supported.
Her therapeutic approach is grounded in a client-centered and strengths-based philosophy, recognizing that no two individuals—or families—are the same. Melody integrates evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Family
Systems work, mindfulness strategies, and both directive and non-directive play therapy. Melody believes strongly in partnering with parents and caregivers and regularly provides parent coaching and consultation to support progress at home and in daily routines.
Melody has experience working with ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, oppositional behaviors, sensory processing challenges, executive functioning, social skills development, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. Her work is rooted in the belief that healing occurs through safe relationships, compassionate understanding, and practical tools that support long-term growth. She values lifelong learning, meaningful connections, and creating spaces where individuals and families can grow with confidence and hope.
Outside of her professional life, Melody enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and 4 dogs, trying new recipes, baking with her grandchildren, paddleboarding on the lake, and traveling to the ocean whenever possible.
